I was lucky enough to pick up the ARC (advanced readers copy) at TLA last week. I had just read Delirium and I thought, man another dystopic book about a girl who is separated from men...but then I read it...so good....can't wait for the second book. Eve is about to graduate from school, top of her class. She has great dreams of her new life but then she finds out what really happens to graduates. She runs away and the government is after her. She meets a rebellious boy who helps her escape to Califia, the place where she has been told can save her. She starts to fall for him which helps unravel everything she has known about life and men. Will she be able to survive? Can she trust the boy?
Library Chick's Rating - Scrambled almost an omelet...I did love it and would put it on my favorites but it is more girl friendly. There is some violence, an attempted rape scene (not graphic) and sexual undertones (but again, not graphic)...again a book for the older middle schooler and above 7th grade/8th grade and up
