I didn't know this book was a trilogy until a great librarian told me it was the first in a trilogy. Lena can't wait for her operation to make her like everybody else...this operation takes away the pain of falling in love and being in love. In this society, it has been decided that love was the downfall and when you turn 17, it is safe to have the operation. Of course, Lena doesn't expect to fall in love right before her operation. Library Chicks Rating - Omelet! I couldn't put it down. There are some sexual suggestions (nothing graphic) and some violence. I would recommend it for 7th grade and up.
